Northumbria University Sport has been shortlisted in the ukactive Awards 2024 in the ‘BUCS – Physical Activity Excellence Award’ category.
We are thrilled to be named as one of the finalists within these prestigious awards, which this year will focus on recognising and celebrating excellence and innovation across health, wellbeing and fitness in the UK.
Within the ‘BUCS Physical Activity Excellence Award’ category, Northumbria are up against Nottingham Trent University as well as the University of Surrey to win the award.
On being named as a finalist, Sport Development Manager Andy Barton said: "Northumbria Sport are proud to be shortlisted within this award category. The award reflects a team effort, recognising the impact that our entire sport programme, led by Northumbria Sport staff and supported by a passionate team of volunteers, interns and coaches have in providing opportunities for staff and students to take part in sport and physical activity at Northumbria."
The next stage of the awards will start in August with the winners set to be announced at the awards ceremony taking place at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham on Thursday 3 October 2024.
